ABSTRACT

Malaria is a national and global scale problem on Covid pandemic, with number of cases 516,272 (2020) in Indonesia and 7.9 million in Asia. Resistance use of insecticides, increase doses that harm non-target organisms. This research aims to determine LC90 in toxicity test of synthesis Nanosilver, Carbamate, and Organophosphate. It uses controlled post-treatment design, with total samples of 40 of treatment of Anopheles larvae in malaria endemic areas. LC90 calculation based on estimates and plotting the observed data with the y = ax + b formula. LC90 in synthesis of Nanosilver nitrate and Organophosphate is (0.5 mg/lt + 0.87mg/lt mg). LC90 in synthesis of Nanosilver nitrate and Organophosphate Carbamate are (0.5 mg/lt + 2.235 mg/lt). The absorption of silver nanoparticle into the body of larva Anopheles sp. occurs through the spiracles. Synthesis of Nanosilver and Organophosphate is more effective than Carbamate due to the nature of the Organophosphate and Carbamate materials which influenced by the size of the compounds. Synthesis Nanosilver nitrate (Ag2NO3) has LC90, 0.5 mg/lt + 0.87 mg/lt, which is effective for controlling larva of Anopheles sp. and eco-friendly material as it is better than Carbamate. © 2023 Author(s).

ABSTRACT

As publicly known, the existence of COVID has affected all daily activities of our society and it has caused the adversity in hotel sector as well. Therefore Grand Edge Hotel can be appropriate object of research because its building has an east-west orientation. This paper has two research questions;First, how bad is the decrease of occupancy and energy occurred at four-star hotel amidst pandemic since 2020? Second, is there any effect by the pattern of rooms at the hotel having an east-west building orientation on guest profile amidst pandemic? Method of this research is the SPSS related to occupancy profile, consumption of energy and pattern of rooms at four-star Grand Edge Hotel Semarang. Pursuant to the result of analysis, it can be concluded that the decrease of hotel occupancy was significant for the consumption of energy amidst pandemic. Whereas the guest profile does not have significant effect on the room orientation, it means that the rooms on East side are not more electable than the rooms on West side by a ratio 38% to 62%. One of the considerations is the optimization of morning sunlight can be performed directly by using the swimming pool area in the rooftop. © 2023 Author(s).

ABSTRACT

Covid-19 has spread across the world. To overcome this, the Government of Indonesia implemented a Large-Scale Social Restriction (in Indonesia, it is called PSBB) in several areas, including Jakarta. The research aims to analyze the number of transportation modes and industrial closures on air quality (CO, NO2, SO2, O3, and PM10) during PSBB using descriptive-analytic methods. Our research uses secondary data obtained online from Jakarta's Environmental Services, Transportation Services, and Manpower Services. The analysis used in our study is Mann Whitney and Rank Spearman tests. Overall, the number of transportation modes have more impact than industrial closure. PSBB has impact on reducing CO levels 72,4%, NO2 (78%), and SO2 (0,35%). Coefficient correlation number of modes transportation with CO (R = 0,259;p < 0,001), NO2 (R = 0,384;p < 0,0001), SO2 (R = 0,372;p < 0,0001), industrial closure with SO2 (R = -0,364;p < 0,006). Most motorized vehicles Band industries use fossil fuels. Vehicle and industrial restrictions reduce the use of fossil fuels. Emission reduction will affect air quality. Restriction on the number of industries and vehicles at the time the PSBB significantly reduces exhaust emissions. © 2023 Author(s).

ABSTRACT

The COVID-19 pandemic has affected various aspects of life, including education. Online learning that is done to avoid direct contact is a solution in the implementation of learning. For this reason, it is necessary for the cooperation of parents and students to help maximize the online learning process at home. This study aims to determine the self-efficacy of parents when helping elementary school children in doing online learning at home. This study shows what obstacles parents face when assisting elementary school children in studying at home, what factors influence the success of parents in helping children learn at home. This research is a descriptive research with a quantitative approach. The data collection method used a questionnaire in the form of a self-assessment questionnaire. The sample of this study was 75 parents of elementary school students, with various backgrounds and different school origins Data Analyze Technique obtained were analyzed using percentage calculations, scores were categorized by the scale and then described. The results of this study are: (1) 85,96% of parents have the confidence to be able to help children in completing tasks;(2) 80,62% of parents have the ability to motivate themselves;(3) 81,54% of parents are able to work hard and be persistent in helping their children to do online learning at home;(4) 81,46% of parents are able to survive in the face of difficulties when helping children study at home. This study shows the diversity of parents' self-efficacy in helping children learn at home. Parents who have high self-efficacy will continue to try and learn to help their child's online learning process at home. © 2021 ACM.

ABSTRACT

Characteristics of Solid Medical Waste As long as the hospital as a health service provider is a source of solid medical waste generation. The current COVID-19 pandemic can potentially increase the number of medical waste generation in health care facilities. The COVID-19 pandemic has had an impact on changing the characteristics of the medical waste produced. This study describes the characteristics of hospital solid medical waste during the COVID-19 pandemic at the X Referral Covid Hospital in Semarang City. The study results show that the ratio of increasing solid medical waste during the 2020 pandemic ranges from 1.39 to 2.08 kg/bed/day. Handling medical waste in this condition is a challenge that needs to be appropriately managed.
